Most of the machines on 16feet stroke suitable for 5HP milling head. Imported and Indian planer machines like Cooper, HES, Hercules , Champions etc are suitable for 10HP and 20HP capacity. It also depends upon the size of the cutter you use for milling and also depends upon the type of material your cutting in planomilling machine.

An intermediate back plate is fixed between the milling and tool post carriage, taking location of the available bore and circular "T" slot of the carriage. Graduated collar will guide to positioning of the spindle access +/- 45degree. The back plate guide easy tilting mechanism of the milling head and also leads the full utilization of the available quill movement of the milling head. It is difficult to support the unbalanced weight of the desired angle. Hence a mechanical tilting mechanism, consists of a worm and a sector gear is provided to the back plate.

 

Side Milling Attachment virtually adds side milling capabilities to the vertical milling head. Side Milling Attachment mounted on milling head, with the help of flange having "T" slot and graduation collar +/-360degree, enable side milling attachment to swivell +/-360degree. It receives drive through tenon and an adapter, the Side Milling Attachment consists of a pair of spiral bevel gears, case hardened and lapped.
